HOW DO YOU REFURBISH COLD-ROOM WALLS?
In this blog post, we will talk about what happens when your cold-room or a refrigerated process plant gets old. Moreover, we are going to give you a solution for the cold-rooms, when the insulation is still working well, but the finishing not.
REAL PROBLEM OF COLD-ROOM WITH AGGRESSIVE ENVIRONMENT
Last week, one of our clients phoned us to ask for a suggestion on how to cover the current walls of his seafood processing plant, because time and dirt turned his white walls into grey, oxidated walls. When that time comes, you may face a tough decision: either to change or refurbish your insulated metal panel wall.
If the insulation’s general condition is still good, you can refurbish existing cold-room walls. It’s also vital to check if the panels’ joints are still airtight.
In our case, our client inspected the insulation and saw it was still inition, and the joints of the panels were acceptable cond always tight. Of course, in another moment, he would probably consider changing all the walls, but at this time of financial uncertainty due to the Coronavirus Outbreak, he chose the cheaper solution.
3 TOP SOLUTIONS TO REFURBISH COLD-ROOM WALLS QUICKLY
So, we suggested him to cover the existing wall and have prepared three options for that:
- To apply over the existing wall a new layer of sandwich panels 25 or 30 mm thick;
- To apply over the existing wall a sheet of PVC sanitary cladding;
- Otherwise, to use over the existing wall a coat of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic.
Our customer asked us to suggest which option was immediately available and quickest to install. In this case, options 1 and 3 are immediately available for delivery to his plant.
Our customer felt relieved because now he knows he can keep his plant up and running, with minimal costs. We are happy when a customer calls us to ask for suggestions. We are glad to help to find solutions together with our client.
